A novel monograph entitled "Mycosynthesis of Nanomaterials: Perspectives and Challenges" edited by prof. Mahendra Rai (a visiting researcher of our University within the NAWA scholarship in 2021-2023) and  prof. Patrycja Golińska (associate professor of NCU) from the Department of Microbiology (Institute of Biology) has just been published. This is the second in this year, and third in total, monograph edited by these scientists.

The monograph focus on the use of diverse groups of fungi for the synthesis of inorganic and organic nanoparticles. Such synthesis is eco-friendly, economically viable, and can be carried out at ambient temperature without the use of high temperature, pressure or toxic chemicals. It also describes different techniques used for the characterization of the nanoparticles and various hypotheses put forward to elucidate the mechanistic aspect of the synthesis by fungi. This interdisciplinary book is recommended for academicians and students.
