Dear YUFE partners,
We are pleased to announce the launch of a YUFE project called SCAIRY - Sustainable Climate-Change Action via Interdisciplinary Research in YUFE (2025-2027).
SCAIRY is a collaboration between the Sorbonne Nouvelle University, the Antwerp Research Institute for the Arts, and the BioYUFE network, which fosters collaborations in bioscience education and research across the YUFE Alliance. The project will focus on doctoral and early career researchers: we aim to help young researchers from the YUFE Alliance to network across disciplines and to create the connections that will boost interdisciplinary proposals in the future.
We will invite proposals from doctoral students and ECRs for four live-streamed webinars on interdisciplinary approaches to climate action and climate information, which will take place in 2026 and 2027. These events will be advertised as part of the BioYUFE webinar series and the BioCriticism webinar series. Successful applicants will also be invited to co-organise and take part in two in-person workshops in September 2026 and September 2027, during the annual BioYUFE meetings. The SCAIRY project will focus particularly on climate issues linked to the life sciences and on the analysis of climate narratives and climate misinformation, but will remain open to all proposals of collaborations across disciplines.
We invite all YUFE members interested in this project to join us online for the first meeting on the 16th of September 2025, from 12.00 CEST to 14.00 CEST. This meeting will be a live panel discussion on interdisciplinarity, information and misinformation in climate action, followed by a Q&A and brainstorming session with the online participants.
Please share this information as widely as possible within YUFE, particularly with young researchers at your institution. Contact Liliane Campos liliane.campos@sorbonne-nouvelle.fr and Michael Steinke msteinke@essex.ac.uk for further information and to receive updates and calls for the webinar proposals.
